Our Aim's

The objective of Special Connect Friendship Agency is for over 18s to be able to meet one another in a safe environment that initially would be chaperoned. After a suitable time and all parties satisfied, the couple would be able to go out un-chaperoned and hopefully form their own special friendship, broaden their horizons and enjoy life to the full.

Because safety is of the utmost importance, it is essential that there is parent or carer participation. If either one of the parent, or a responsible relative were unable to chaperone the couple, then the friendship agency would provide an alternative option. This can be the dial-a-ride service, or a carer service that can be looked into.

The initial aim of Special Connect is to keep the business local to the Wirral, so it can be monitored correctly and safely.

This can be achieved by a number of steps being taken from the very first referral or interview. The referrals may come via a social worker, doctor, youth leader or any such person of authority. People can also join by personal recommendation.

Regardless of how people join or are introduced, all potential clients would be interviewed in their own homes in the presence of their parents or carer; this will enable us to access the suitability of them joining Special Connect.
